Someone's gotta say it:

You know you've got what it takes.

You're not here because you aren't resourceful or driven. You're here because you're smart enough to know that what got you to this level won't automatically get you to the next one.

Maybe you're the most capable person in the room — and somehow still waiting to be seen that way. Maybe you've been passed over for something you'd have rocked, or you're in a leadership role and feel the growing pains. Or maybe you're about to step into something big and you want to walk in ready, not just 🤞 hoping for the best.

Or maybe things are fine, technically. But 'fine' isn't what you're on this earth for.

That gap between your talent and your impact? It's closeable. And it's exactly what we work on.

You might be here because...

You've done everything right. And, it's still not translating.

The results are there. The recognition? Not keeping up.

You know your potential. You're not sure the right people do.

You want visibility, influence, and recognition on your own terms.

You're navigating something with real stakes — and you want to get it right.

A promotion conversation, a leadership transition, or an opportunity you don't want to miss.

You're good at your job. You're ready to be known for it.

You're skilled, but the path forward isn't as clear as it should be.

Something feels off, even when things look fine on paper.

There's a version of your career, and your life, that you haven't fully realized. Yet.

“

She helped me reimagine my future.

With Shira's guidance, I gained valuable insights about myself, my strengths, my blind spots, and she helped me reimagine my future. When I started exploring my next challenge after many years in a big corporate, I came across Shira's post. Her approach felt spot on for where I was at that moment. That journey led to a meaningful and successful transition.

Senior Product Designer, returning client

I'm a career and leadership coach for senior professionals and leaders in global tech. I built my practice around one question: what actually determines who gets seen, trusted, and moved forward at work?

Shira

Hey, I'm Shira Sneg

I've spent 10+ years studying what creates career momentum and building evidence-based frameworks that turn talent into visible, recognized impact.

The story of how I got here, and what I've learned along the way, is what shapes my work.

“

Honestly, working with Shira was better than therapy.

She's supportive, understanding, and really knows how to guide you through the tough stuff. I came out of this process with a much clearer direction for my career and a solid plan for the next year.

“

It allowed my team to really shine and highlighted each person's unique strengths. We still talk about it years later.

Shira's approach was not only refreshing but also incredibly effective. With Shira's expert guidance, we gained a deeper appreciation of what everyone brings to the table. The impact has been phenomenal — we're still buzzing with the strengths terminology, and I've seen a huge boost in my team's enthusiasm and confidence. They're more proactive, connected, and eager to take on new challenges.

About

There's a point where doing more of what got you here stops working.

Hey, I'm Shira Sneg — career and leadership coach for senior professionals in global tech. I work at the intersection of behavioral science, organizational psychology, and strategic communication.

I know what it costs to be underestimated. I know what it takes to design your way forward. And I know that the tools that make the difference are almost never the ones anyone teaches you.

Chapter 1

I know what it feels like to do everything right and still not get what you want.

In the first year of my psych degree at UBC, I didn't get the role I'd been working toward. It wasn't just a job for me — it came with a housing discount, a clear pathway into my desired career, and what felt like the obvious next step. Andddd... it went to someone else. Instead of moving on, I got curious. What actually determines who gets seen, moved forward, and trusted with the opportunities everyone wants? These questions sent me down a years-long path. By the time I graduated, I'd led policy change in the university senate, managed teams, spoke at international conferences, and gave a TEDx talk.

Research

Behind My Work

The science of career momentum.

I didn’t build my practice solely from intuition. These are some of the findings that shape it — and that explain why so many talented professionals hit a ceiling that has nothing to do with their ability.

What we know about careers, leadership, and why even the best people get stuck.

Tap any card to go deeper.

The visibility gap

You can deliver and still be underestimated. Here's why.

The self-awareness paradox

95% think they're self-aware. Around 10–15% are.

Your most accessible value multipler

Your strengths are your unfair advantage, but 4 of 5 people don't treat them that way.

Communication, influence, and EQ

Your performance gets you in the room. Your EQ determines what you leave the room with.

The leadership leap

Up to 46% of leadership transitions fail within two years — and it's almost never about skills.

The first 90 days

Your first 90 days set your trajectory, not just your onboarding.

The negotiation gap

Most professionals never negotiate — and it shapes more than their salary.

Authenticity: a double-edge

There's a version of authenticity that lifts careers, and another that holds them back.

Working across worlds

Cultural intelligence and async communication are core career skills, not just nice-to-haves.

“

Shira uses research-backed methods to make strengths actionable — not hypothetical or vague.

I had several personal conversations with Shira, and participated in a workshop she did for one of the professional organizations I'm part of. Highly recommend Shira both for personal professional growth guidance and for managers who want to better understand and appreciate their team members and help them grow — as well as to become a better manager themselves.
